This Is Just the Start – Achievement Report Q2 2017
Summer in the UK is almost over, and this website is now in full swing.
I thought it would be a great idea to publish my own quarterly update.
Since I am sitting here writing these posts to help you achieve your goals, the very least I can do is share my own. I want to show you exactly how the things I share in this blog will help you achieve your goals (because they are helping me achieve mine too).
What’s my mission?
“I want to inspire change in a million people so they can realise their potential and reach their goals. As a result, they live a better life personally and professionally.”
This is my personal mission statement. It is the reason why this blog exists.
There is so much that I believe I can help you achieve, but for this quarter, I am going to focus on two specific areas.
#1 How to make more time for the important stuff in your life (personal productivity)
This is very generic and applies to any goal that you want to achieve. Achieving anything takes time and energy. A lack of time is the most common excuse that people use when they’re not achieving their goals, and, to be honest, that’s very fair. Time is something we all struggle with. This is where I will share all the core strategies that I use to free up more hours in my week. These strategies have already helped me check off a number of big goals in a relatively short amount of time. I’ve lost weight, published a book, and I’m running my own business on the side while maintaining my career. These are common goals that many people dream of achieving. If I can do it—and if I can show you exactly how I did it—you can do it too!
#2 How to make time to start your own business (while holding down a full-time job)
I am growing my business with each passing month, all while maintaining my career. Getting started and generating growth takes discipline, perseverance and consistency. Many people underestimate exactly what it takes to start that business they’ve been sitting on for years. I thought it would be a wasted opportunity if I didn’t share my journey at the same time. It helps to see a realistic account of exactly what it takes and how someone who is just like you does it from month to month. If starting your own business is your goal, then I am going to be getting into detail on how I started mine. My hope is that you’ll see just how within reach that dream can be with a little work. Maybe you’ll dust off that great idea and build the business you’ve always daydreamed about.
What are my professional goals this quarter?
This is where I share the direction of this website. I am going to tell you everything that I am currently working on to help you achieve your goals.
This is only the start for me, so I am using blogging to capture all my knowledge and experience, and to hopefully provide some useful strategies and tactics for my readers to apply in their own lives.
What topics am I planning on covering?
- What you need to stop doing to become more productive.
- How to work out your true hourly worth, and why some people are worth millions.
- How using the 60:30:10 approach can help you prioritise your income streams.
- Why you don’t need to work longer days to get more done.
If there is any topic or idea around productivity that you want me to cover, you can email me at email@example.com
How to become more productive in 30 days (eBook)
I haven’t fully decided a name for this eBook yet, but the content is completely locked down. This book will cover the key strategies you need to deploy to make more time for the things that matter most. If you take action on the strategies I lay out in this book, you will be able to double your productivity and eliminate procrastination. Imagine how much progress you can make on your goal with double the productivity and none of the procrastination. That’s a recipe for building momentum and powering your way to success.
And as a valued reader of my blog, you will have the opportunity to read this for FREE. So watch this space!
I have been using a really great productivity system over the last few years. It has helped me take more action in the last year alone than the previous ten combined.
At the moment, I adapt a blank soft touch diary to my system. While the system is a powerful way to gain back time in your week, it does require this little step of drawing out the system into a notebook, which is a little time-consuming and can be a right pain. The net time gained from using the system still vastly outweighs this tiny inconvenience, but I’d still like to streamline the process and eliminate it completely.
The solution to this is a fully functional, ready-to-use tool in the form of a 12-week planner. I want to share this system with you, but also provide a quick and easy way to use it. It will save both of us a lot of time drawing out the system every week and keep you focused on the things that are really important.
The great news is that have already created the first draft! It’s currently with a number of close friends who are proofing and checking over the content.
I intend to launch this 12-week planner on Kickstarter to get the initial buzz going and to get it in front of as many eyeballs as possible.
This is in its very early stages. I have never recorded a video before, but once I have finished some of the projects above, I am really going to ramp up my focus on this aspect of my content. As much as I love blogging, seeing and hearing a person explain a system or strategy really adds another layer to understanding and implementing it.
I want to package everything I know about productivity in a concise curriculum that will help you implement it and take action in 30 days.
I will publish the course on my own website and on Udemy in Q4 (and, yes, there will be a discount for my loyal subscribers).
What are my personal goals this quarter?
For those who don’t know me, I am currently living in Stevenage, in the UK. I work for a massive company in the UK as a business development coach, all while running this business on the side (for now). It is very hectic, but I can honestly say that I am loving every minute of it!
I am a massive fitness freak and the last few months have consisted of me tracking my calories religiously on MyFitnessPal, where I’ve been doing my best to keep to my target calories. I’m trying to lose some stubborn weight that has snuck on over the last few years. Luckily enough, I’ve managed to lose over 6kgs in 12 weeks, finishing August at a nice weight of 86kgs.
Now that the summer is over and winter is creeping in, it’s time for me to bulk. For me, this means tons of good food, and maybe a few cheeky Nandos! I will be putting the weight I lost back on, but this time in the form of muscle—not sausage rolls!
I also have a two-week holiday to Mexico planned in with my girlfriend. I always use this downtime time to learn as much as I can, and I will hopefully get through about ten books while laying poolside in the sun.
Here is a glimpse of my reading list:
That’s enough about me! Thank you for following my blog (hopefully it is not a procrastination method for you). Get out there and start taking some action this week on your goals.
You only have one life. I am living mine. Make sure that you are too!
